On Wednesday, January 30, 2008 around 4 pm I went to the Rec. The Rec is a place where people come to engage in vigorous activities to obtain healthy lifestyles as well as appearances.
When I first walked in I observed a desk to my left with a person who I assumed was the attendant for the time being. As I walked further in, I seen that the place had two seperate sides; on the left was all of the weights and on the right were machines such as ellipticals & treadmills. I assumed that the left side was for strenghth trainers and the right for people who wanted to get their heart rate up to have a better results from their workout. I also seen a wall wide mirror which people looked at from time to time. I can say that there were quite a few people there; more guys than females. But on my way out about an hour later even more people were comong through still more guys than girls.

This is a really interesting start! I like the way you show the layout of the room and give us a glimpse of who is there. I'm curious about what happened in between the time you arrived and the time you left. If you were working out, it was probably harder to take notes (don't do it that way--just observe, don't participate). You say there were more guys than girls. Why do you think that was? What were those guys and girls like? Let's keep working on incorporating these kinds of details in your observations.
